In his time at this company, he completed three specializations, in Moscow, Saransk, and Budapest.

In 1977 he received his Master's degree from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, with a thesis titled "Methods of Measuring Magnetic Fields and Procedures for Protecting Against Their Effects", and in 1983 he completed his doctoral dissertation at the same faculty, titled "Contribution to the Analysis of Circuits with Current Measuring Transformers".

In 1973 he started teaching at the Higher Technical School Čačak. In 1977 he joined the Technical Faculty Čačak. In 1983 he was appointed to the position of associate professor of Basics of Electrical Engineering and Electrical Measurements, and in 1988 he was promoted to full professor for the same subjects. He also taught Electrical Measurements at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Priština, and Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Kraljevo.

Through his scientific and professional activities Dr Milić Đekić achieved notable results, especially in the field of electrical measurements, developing methods and procedures for measuring magnetic quantities and designing electromagnetic devices. He realized several scientific-research and development projects, the results of which were applied in practice (he led 6 scientific-research projects and was a researcher in 11 scientific-research projects). For many years, he worked on scientific-research projects at the Polytechnic University, Krakow. Dr Đekić's research was carried out in the fields of applied electrical engineering. He was responsible for the construction investment of the faculty building, which resulted in high functionality of its equipment. He established laboratories for electrical measurements and fundamentals of electrical engineering at the Faculty. He taught postgraduate courses at this faculty and participated in committees for the defense of PhD theses. He was a member of similar committees at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Belgrade and the Faculty of Electronics Niš.
